D&D Adventurers League2018-09-07T08:10:21+00:00

Get ready to roll some dice and slay some monsters… the world’s most popular role playing game, Dungeons & Dragons, is coming to NC Comicon! On Saturday, November 10th & Sunday, November 11th the D&D Adventurers League of the Triangle will host two days of organized play in the historic Durham Armory. This event is open to all NC Comicon attendees with the purchase of their admission to the show. If you need a ticket still, you can get them HERE.

What is D&D Adventurers League?

Adventurers League is the organized play program for Dungeons & Dragons. Unique to organized play, the heroes you create in the Adventurers League follow you wherever you go. You can play those characters at any D&D Adventurers League event, whether it’s at a local game store or at another convention.

What do I need to play?

  • Time: Most adventures take either two or four hours to play. Both options will be available this year at NC Comicon.
  • A Character: You can create an Adventurers League character by following the AL character creation rules found HERE. (If you do not want to create your own character, one will be provided for you at the event.)
  • Knowledge: Though no previous D&D experience is required, a little knowledge goes a long way. You can download the basic rules to D&D HERE and prepare yourself!

How do I sign up to play?

You can pre-register for a seat on our Warhorn site HERE (Please note that pre-registration for this event will open on September 24th) or you can sign up on the day of the event. Seats are available on a first come/first serve basis so pre-registering is the best way to ensure that you will get to play. If the list is full, just sign up on the “waitlist” and show up ready to play. No-shows happen so there’s a good chance that you will still be able to play!

What else?

If you have a set of polyhedral dice, please bring them along. DMs typically will loan dice to new players but there is no guarantee that there will be enough dice to go around. You can pick up a set of polyhedral dice at the Ultimate Comics Cary. If you want to get the full knowledge of the game, you can also pick up a D&D Player’s Handbook at the same location. Finally, if you have a pencil or a writing utensil that would also be really handy to have as well.
