Calling all Superheroes, Wizards, Cosplayers and Fantasy enthusiast! NCComicon is back in 2014 and ready to celebrate another year of amazing artists, writers, and fans! As always, we are delighted and privileged to welcome new artists, writers, maybe some secret announcements (shh), as well as welcome returning favorites from all around the globe.


Lee Moder

Lee ModerBorn, raised & based in Pittsburgh, PA, lover of fine beers, bacon snob and always looking to fill out his MST3K collection Lee E. Moder is currently the artist for the Edgar Rice Burroughs’ The Mucker webcomic for the ERB Digital Comics Strips Service (edgarriceburroughs.com/comics). He is also the regular cover artist for Anthony Ruttgaizer’s Action Lab comic The F1rst Hero. He and Anthony are also teaming up for their own book, Pulp/Hero and he is hard at work with Ron Marz on the second volume of their Image title Shinku. His other works include Painkiller Jane, Highlander, Stars & STRIPE, Legion of Super-Heroes, Batman: The Last Angel GN, an Action Comics Annual and Wonder Woman.

Kevin Freeman

Kevin FreemanKevin Freeman is a military brat and has been in and out of the comics industry for over 15 years as a fan, retailer, editor and writer. Kevin has written numerous pieces for Wizards of the Coast, and has written comics stories for Shrek, Richie Rich, Glob World, the UFO Anthology and NFL Rush Zone.

His magnum opus is the twice-weekly webcomic SubCulture, which debuted in 2007 as a four-issue comic series and has updated on the web continuously since February 2008. It came to an end in October 2012 after 501 strips. He also was the Editor for the now-defunct Comics Now! Magazine.

As President of Action Lab, Kevin serves as the face of the company and is charged with correspondence with Diamond and keeping things as organized as possible. A self-proclaimed “Evil Genius for a Better Tomorrow,” he is an avid traveler and a rabid soccer fan. He currently lives in North Carolina with his wife and son.
